Employment Rights Act 2026

The Employment Rights Bill has now passed through Parliament.

This will usher in one of the most far-reaching changes to UK employment legislation this century.

 

In short, it will strengthen things like notice periods, redundancy pay, parental leave and flexible working, protection from unfair dismissal, employee consultation, and pay transparency.

 

For many businesses, this will involve reviewing contracts, policies, payroll, and HR processes to ensure everything is up to date and compliant.

 

This is your chance to take preventative measures to ensure you are protected; without this, it could get very expensive if things go wrong! Getting everything in place now puts you in a much safer position and helps avoid having to deal with lawyers, claims, or last-minute fixes later on. It’s much easier (and cheaper) to be ready in advance than to try to sort things out when something has already gone wrong.
